Roma reach final after extra-time win over Leverkusen
Roma have reached the final of the Europa League after beating Bayer Leverkusen 2-1 on aggregate in a thrilling semi-final. The Italian side lost the first leg 2-0 in Germany but fought back to win 1-0 at home in the return leg, thanks to a goal from Nicolo Zaniolo in extra time.
Roma will now face either Juventus or Inter Milan in the final in Warsaw on May 24.
Juventus beat Lyon 2-1 in the other semi-final, while Inter Milan beat Shakhtar Donetsk 5-0.
Roma's victory is a remarkable achievement for the Italian side, who have not won a major European trophy since the 1960 European Cup.
Jose Mourinho's side have shown great resilience in the Europa League this season, having come from behind to beat Leicester City and Feyenoord in the knockout rounds.
Roma will now be hoping to go all the way and win the trophy, which would be a major boost for the club and for Italian football.
